It feels like an insect walking on my back.
In A UNIVERSAL REACTION, the emotion of fear is explored as movement.
Fears move bodies. They are movements in bodies and they move between bodies. They shape bodies and draw their postures. Fears are of greatest choreographic interest because they surround, undermine, permeate and determine bodily movements.
By describing fears as emotions, they are given a cultural affiliation.
A UNIVERSAL REACTION is the seventh part of the UNIVERSAL series of pieces. All works in this series deal with the effects of social systems of power on human bodies.
